Our costs for critiques of novels and short stories are kept as low as possible so that many writers can access our professional and helpful service.

You choose how many critiques of your work you would like; one, two or three. Each appraisal is provided by a different reviewer, and are all returned to you together.

Or you might prefer to have several drafts critiqued over a period of time by the same reviewer. Do tell us if this is your preference.

Note, we provide critiques for novel extracts – useful for submissions to agents or for competition entries.

All the costs shown on this page are for manuscripts submitted digitally. We accept payment by two or more instalments for fees over £300.

Sometimes our Critique Plus is the perfect answer for completed novels.

Novel or novel extract

Email us for the cost of reviewing exceptionally long novels.

For full novels of 80,000 words or more, you may like to include a synopsis of up to 1,000 words.

Flash fiction or short story

If you aren’t able to send your writing digitally, we do accept postal submissions. However, this involves slightly higher costs. For details, email us with the word count of your manuscript and the number of critiques you’d like and we’ll send you a price for your consideration. (Reminder: never send the only copy of your manuscript anywhere!)
